I love Cabaret (though continued haunted by a misguided attempt to audition for my first musical at uni by singing Maybe This Time. I didn't get the part. Any part.) so I was a pretty willing audience. A little cynical as the cast featured a couple of lesser known celebrities. But their Emcee bore up pretty well under the strain of expectation. Fraulein Shneider and Herr Schultz were just gorgeous. And by and large, I agree with Joyce. Though I was sitting on the nether edges of the stalls so missed some of the lacklustre visual spectacle. But just as she says, the message in this show is so superbly appalling that it really didn't matter too much.
