I know you'll have had no pleasure at all in your weekends as you've waited with baited breath for the outcome of my (thirty-fourth) battle with the Fringe office.
You may now rest assured that all is well. I won. Voilá (and yes, I know the accent is pointing the wrong way but I don't know how to spin it round).

I'm sorry to be a pain but our breath was bated not baited. We were not trying to catch something.
More helpfully perhaps congratulations on winning your fight and:
There are several ways to get the à. Personally I would switch my keyboard to a French keyboard and then type 0 (zero) which is what I have done here.
If you want to learn how to do that see http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/word-help/use-a-keyboard-layout-for-a-specific-language-HP003084567.aspx?CTT=3
Or you can type à in Word using CTL+` a. You then have to save your file as text choosing a Unicode encoding (UTF7 works)and subsequently reopen it and copy and paste.
A much simpler way is to choose the character you want from the web page table at http://www.atm.ox.ac.uk/user/iwi/charmap.html
and copy and paste it.
